Anthropic’s IPO filing puts its market at about forty trillion dollars, roughly a third of the entire global economy. That money is not new growth. It is the value of the work the world’s knowledge workers did last year, measured by what they get paid. In plain terms, it is what companies pay the people who do the work. For this stock to work, a real slice of what every company pays its people has to move to employing bots instead of humans. The better this stock does, the worse we do.
