Terms of Service

Website: https://strangenew.world Effective Date: August 13, 2026 Last Updated: August 13, 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Christian Knudsen, an individual operating the Site under the name “Strange New World” (“Strange New World,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the website located at https://strangenew.world (the “Site”), including any purchases of merchandise and any donations made through the Site.

By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, placing an order, or making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, Refund and Returns Policy, and Shipping Policy, each of which is posted on the Site and incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.

When you place an order through our checkout, you will be asked to affirmatively accept these Terms before completing your purchase. Checking the acceptance box constitutes your electronic signature and agreement to these Terms.

2. Who We Are

The Site is operated by:

Christian Knudsen (sole proprietor) 11372 Washington Pl. Los Angeles, California 90066 Telephone: (310) 571-8755 Email: [email protected]

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to place an order or make a donation through the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

4. Accounts

You may be able to create an account to track orders and manage your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Merchandise; Product Information

We sell merchandise (“Products”) through the Site. We try to display Products and describe them as accurately as possible, but we do not warrant that Product descriptions, images, colors, sizing, or other content are complete, accurate, or error-free. Colors you see depend on your display and may differ from the physical Product.

All Products are subject to availability. We reserve the right to discontinue any Product at any time, to limit quantities per person, household, or order, and to refuse or cancel any order, including orders that appear to be placed by resellers or bots.

6. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

a. Order acceptance. Your order is an offer to purchase. Our order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance; a contract is formed when we ship the Product(s) to you. We may refuse or cancel any order at any time before shipment for any lawful reason, including suspected fraud, pricing or description errors, or stock issues. If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund the amount charged.

b. Pricing. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include taxes or shipping unless stated otherwise at checkout. If a Product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical or system error, we may cancel the order and refund any amount you paid.

c. Taxes. Applicable sales tax and other taxes will be calculated and added at checkout based on your shipping address and applicable law.

d. Payment processing. Payments on the Site are processed by third-party payment processors, including WooPayments (a service provided by Automattic Inc. and its affiliates, built in partnership with Stripe), and any express-checkout options offered at checkout (such as WooPay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). By submitting payment, you: (i) represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided; (ii) authorize us and our payment processors to charge your payment method for the total amount of your order or donation, including taxes and shipping; and (iii) agree to the applicable processor’s terms of service and privacy policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers; payment information is collected and processed by our payment processors.

e. Declined or disputed payments. If your payment method is declined or a charge is reversed, we may cancel or suspend your order. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback so we can attempt to resolve the issue.

7. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping methods, costs, and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and described in our Shipping Policy posted on the Site. Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Unless otherwise stated, title to Products and risk of loss pass to you upon our delivery of the Products to the carrier. You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address; we are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrectly supplied address.

For international orders (if offered), you are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees imposed by your country.

8. Returns and Refunds (Merchandise)

Our return and refund practices for merchandise — including the return window, condition requirements, responsibility for return shipping, and any items designated final sale — are described in our Refund and Returns Policy posted on the Site, which is incorporated into these Terms and forms part of your agreement with us.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take up to 10 business days to appear, depending on your financial institution. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

9. Donations

The Site also accepts voluntary donations to support our creative work and the ongoing operation of Strange New World.

Donations are made to Christian Knudsen, an individual. We are not a nonprofit or tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and donations are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal or state income tax purposes. Donations are voluntary gifts made without expectation of goods, services, or other consideration in return, and we retain full discretion over the use of donated funds.

All donations: Donations are generally non-refundable. If you made a donation in error (for example, an incorrect amount or a duplicate transaction), contact us at [email protected] within 15 days and we will review refund requests in good faith. Donations are processed through the same payment processors described in Section 6(d).

10. Recurring Donations and Subscriptions

If we offer recurring (e.g., monthly or annual) donations, memberships, or subscription purchases, the following applies:

a. Disclosure and consent. Before you enroll, we will clearly disclose the amount and frequency of the recurring charge, the length of any term, that the charge will continue until you cancel, and how to cancel. You will only be enrolled after you give your express affirmative consent to those terms, and we will send you an acknowledgment (such as an email confirmation) that includes the recurring terms and cancellation instructions.

b. Charges. By enrolling, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge your saved payment method the stated amount at the stated interval until you cancel.

c. Cancellation. You may cancel a recurring donation or subscription at any time, effective for future charges, using the same online method you used to sign up — including through your account on the Site or the cancellation link included in your confirmation and receipt emails — or by emailing [email protected]. We will not impose obstacles or unreasonable steps on cancellation. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund amounts already charged, except as described in Section 9.

d. Changes and renewal reminders. If we materially change the terms of a recurring plan (including price increases), we will notify you in advance and, where required by law, obtain your consent. For plans with annual or longer terms, we will send a renewal reminder before renewal as required by applicable law.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to: (a) violate any law or regulation; (b) infringe the rights of others; (c) transmit malware, spam, or harmful code; (d) scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Site without permission; (e) interfere with the Site’s operation or security, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or accounts; (f) place fraudulent orders or make fraudulent donations, including use of stolen payment credentials; or (g) impersonate any person or entity. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations.

12. User Content

If the Site allows you to post reviews, comments, or other content (“User Content”), you retain ownership of your User Content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute it in connection with the Site and our promotion of it. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. We may remove User Content at our discretion.

13. Intellectual Property

The Site and all content on it — including text, graphics, logos, images, product designs, and software — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to browse the Site and purchase Products for personal, non-commercial use, no license or right in the Site or its content is granted to you. “Strange New World” and our logos may not be used without our prior written permission.

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice compliant with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent at [email protected].

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site is built on third-party software and services, including WordPress, WooCommerce, and WooPayments, and may offer third-party checkout options (such as WooPay) or contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. If you save payment information with an express-checkout service such as WooPay, your relationship regarding that stored information is with that service provider, but each transaction remains between you and us.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS WARRANTIES OR RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE, PRODUCTS, OR DONATIONS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES; AND (B) OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE PRODUCT OR DONATION GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, your User Content, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

18. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 19, any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to bring claims in small claims court or any non-waivable rights you have under the laws of your state of residence.

19. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] with a description of the dispute and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Most concerns can be resolved this way. If a dispute is not resolved within that 30-day period, either party may pursue available remedies in the courts described in Section 18.

20. Notice to California Residents (Cal. Civ. Code § 1789.3)

Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users of the Site are entitled to the following consumer rights notice:

The Site is provided by Christian Knudsen, 11372 Washington Pl., Los Angeles, California 90066, telephone (310) 571-8755. There is currently no charge to browse the Site. Charges apply only to Products you purchase and donations you choose to make, plus applicable taxes and shipping fees, all of which are displayed before you complete your transaction. If you have a question or complaint regarding the Site, contact us by email at [email protected], by mail at the address above, or by telephone at (310) 571-8755. California residents may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.

21. California Proposition 65

WARNING: Some Products sold on the Site may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Where required, Proposition 65 warnings are provided on the applicable product page and/or product packaging. For more information, visit https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov.

22. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information — including information collected through WordPress, WooCommerce, our payment processors, and analytics tools — is described in our Privacy Policy, posted on the Site. The Privacy Policy includes information for California residents regarding their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, where applicable.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last Updated” date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice (such as email or a Site banner) where required. Changes apply prospectively; the Terms in effect when you placed an order or made a donation govern that transaction. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

24. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9, 13, and 15–19) will survive.

25. General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies incorporated by reference, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site. Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary. No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization. Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Electronic communications. You consent to receive communications from us electronically, and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing.
