Jeff Bezos is known for, among other things, perpetuating Jim Collins’s metaphor of a flywheel in business. It is basically this concept in startup culture that preaches a self-perpetuating business model where your growth feeds back into building out your infrastructure which feeds back into more growth.
I’m not the first to say it, and I’m sure this will make me sound like a commie-pinko-bastard, but could there be a self perpetuating “flywheel for good” where everyone does nice things for each other which in turn inspires those people to do nice things for even more people?
Here at SN.W Labs we encourage our community members to ‘pay it forward’ by helping each other out on an individual basis. Some of you may have already received individualized tutorials, and if you found that knowledge useful, maybe consider passing on what you learned to a few other people and encourage them to do the same, or think about how you could create your own self-perpetuating flywheel with what YOU know that meets the needs of the people in YOUR life. And maybe if we could keep doing this type of thing, make this practice part of our daily lives, I bet that would really start to have an actual effect on the world around us.
Maybe I’m overestimating our reach, but I have this suspicion that if one could actually see all the downstream effects that are created from every person we have ever loved or positively influenced in this world, we would all feel that our lives are much more meaningful than we already do. Or at least that’s the fallacy that keeps me going 😏
